Upper GI Endoscopy in Agra: Why It Is Done and How to Prepare

Upper GI endoscopy allows direct examination of the oesophagus, stomach and duodenum.

Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy uses a flexible camera to examine the food pipe, stomach and the first part of the small intestine. It may help investigate persistent symptoms, bleeding, ulcer disease, swallowing difficulty and other clinically significant problems.

Preparation matters

Follow the fasting instructions given by the procedure team. Tell the doctor about diabetes medicines, blood thinners, allergies and major medical conditions. Do not stop prescription medicines on your own.

What happens after the procedure

Post-procedure instructions depend on whether sedation was used and whether a biopsy or therapeutic procedure was performed. Arrange transport if advised and ask when normal food and medicines can be resumed.

Endoscopy at AGLEC

At AGLEC, endoscopy is recommended according to clinical indication. Dr. Krishna Kohli's documented training includes diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, colonoscopy and ERCP.
